Recent Sacramento legislation, SB 886 (Negrete-McLeod), enlarged and
reconfigured the AQMD Governing Board effective January 1, 2008. The bill
expanded the Board from 12 to 13 members and reconstituted the geographic
sectors for the Los Angeles based seats, as follows:

The City of Los
Angeles now holds an individual seat. L.A. City Councilwoman
Jan
Perry, formerly the L.A. County Western Region representative, will now
serve in this Board position.

The L.A. County Western Region is
reconfigured with an expanded total of 51 cities. Long Beach City
Councilwoman Tonia Reyes Uranga, formerly the L.A. County Eastern Region
representative, will now serve in this Board position.

The
L.A. County Eastern Region is newly configured with a total of 34 cities.
On January 31, 2008, South Pasadena Mayor
Michael A. Cacciotti was elected
to serve in this position by the City Selection Committee.
