| This course presents
background and field procedures for conducting fugitive emissions monitoring
at refineries, marketing terminals, and oil and gas production facilities.
The emphasis is on understanding and following uniform and consistent
methods based on guidelines approved by the state and local air quality
agencies. The use of VOC leak data to develop facility emissions
inventories will also be discussed. Successful completion of this
course will satisfy one of the requirements for the operator certificate at air pollution control
districts that require such certification.
Portable hydrocarbon analyzers will be used in class. If you have
access to one, please bring to the course, as this will facilitate in-class
demonstrations. It is also recommended that you bring a calculator.
