Blowing dust from man-made activities can cause both
nuisance and health related problems, if these activities are not
controlled to minimize airborne particulates.
AQMD Rules 403 and 403.1
require implementation of specific measures to prevent, mitigate and
control the release of particulate matter (dust) from these activities.
To support the implementation of these rules, AQMD provides two training classes to provide
attendees with a comprehensive overview of
applicable AQMD requirements and methods of controlling airborne
particulate matter.
This three hour class provides the information applicable to
controlling man-made
dust generating activities conducted within the South Coast Air Basin. Classes are taught at AQMD's Diamond Bar office.
After January 1, 2005, this training is required for dust control
supervisors on large operations.
The
Certificate of Completion provided by this class is only valid in the South Coast Air Basin.
Classes are taught at the Coachella Valley Association of Governments (CVAG)
building located in the City of Palm Desert to
serve the needs of the ten local jurisdictions, and a variety of earth
moving trades. The Certificate of Completion provided by this class is
only valid in
the Coachella Valley.
Both classes have limited seating and require reservations. No walk-in
students will be permitted. Private classes are also offered and can be
taught at building sites or offices with a suitable teaching environment.
For more information on private classes call (866) 861-DUST (3878).
