Proposed Amendments to Rule 1171 - Solvent Cleaning
Operations (10 mins.)
At the July 14, 2006 Governing Board meeting, the Board directed
staff to re-evaluate industry's request to delay implementation of the
100 g/l VOC limit for clean up solvents used in lithographic printing on
newsprint particularly as it pertains to the clean up of pipe rollers.
Furthermore, the Board directed staff to resolve issues related to the
definition of newsprint. Staff's findings and recommendation will
be presented. |

Rule 1403 - Asbestos Emissions from
Demolition/Renovation Activities (5 mins.)
The proposed amendments are designed to clarify rule intent, ease
enforcement of the rule's requirements, and improve overall rule
effectiveness. |

Draft Recommendations Regarding Public Notification
Procedures During Flare Events (15 mins.)
When Rule 1118 was amended in November 2005, the Governing Board
directed staff to work with industry, interested agencies, and local
communities to develop a community notification system for flare events,
and to provide periodic updates to the Stationary Source Committee.
This update describes the steps taken to date by Flare Event
Notification Working Group to implement the Governing Board's directive. |

Board Member concerns related to power plant projects’ access to
Priority Reserve for facilities to be located in environmental justice
areas.
