PAR 1171 - Solvent Cleaning Operations
(15 mins.)
Last year the Board amended Rule 1171 and extended the final compliance
date by 18 months, to January 1, 2008, for clean-up solvents used in
conventional lithographic, UV/EB and screen printing operations.
This report will highlight the printing industry's achievements in
product development and testing for the majority of the affected
facilities and will describe obstacles encountered with respect to
several ink cleaning categories where additional time is needed for
successful conversion to new formulations. Staff will outline
proposed amendments to the rule which would extend the deadline for
certain categories. Staff will also outline proposed new rule
requirements for suppliers of all cleaning materials subject to Rule
1171. |

Rule 222.1 - Filing and Registration of
Architectural Coatings
Rule 314 - Fees for Architectural Coatings (15 mins.)
Rule 222.1 requires manufacturers of architectural coatings to register
all their coating products with the AQMD.
Rule 314 sets a fee schedule to recover the AQMD cost of regulating
architectural coatings as allowed by the Health and Safety Code. |

Rule 407.1 - Carbon Monoxide Emissions from
Permit Units (10 mins.)
Requires that all equipment issued permits after date of adoption of the
rule install BACT for the control of CO emissions. |

Rule 445 - PM Emissions from Wood
Burning Fireplaces and Wood Stoves (15 mins.)
With the adoption of the 2007 AQMP and subsequent ARB approval, staff
has redrafted Proposed Rule 445 and will present the rule concepts and
outline program implementation, inclusive of an enhanced public outreach
effort. |

Rule 1401 - New Source Review of Toxic
Air Contaminants
Rule 1402 - Control of Toxic Air Contaminants from Existing Sources
Rule 1472 - Risk Requirements for Stationary Diesel-Fueled Internal
Combustion and other Compression Ignition Engines (20 mins.)
Proposed Rule 1472 establishes requirements for facilities with multiple
stationary emergency standby diesel-fueled internal combustion engines.
The SCAQMD staff will provide an overview of this proposed rule.
Proposed Amended Rule 1401 would add diesel PM to the toxic air
contaminant list in Rule 1401 which is the list also used for Rule 1402. |

authority. Speakers may be limited to three (3) minutes each.
