PROPOSAL:
Approve Salary Adjustments for Executive Officer and District Counsel
SYNOPSIS:
The Personnel Committee has reviewed Board Member evaluations of Executive
Officer and District Counsel performance and recommends each receive a
three-percent salary adjustment consistent with the adjustment provided in labor
contracts and recommended for all other employees in Agenda item #8.

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve three-percent salary adjustments for the Executive Officer and
District Counsel effective July 7, 2003.

Background In December 2001, the Board approved new contract terms
and salary adjustments for the Executive Officer and the District Counsel.
In May 2003, Board Members provided performance evaluation information on
both to the Personnel Committee. The Personnel Committee has compiled and
reviewed the information. Proposal Based on the Board’s
indication, as expressed in evaluations Board Members submitted to the
Personnel Committee, that it is pleased with the performance of the
Executive Officer and the District Counsel, the Personnel Committee
recommends each receive a three-percent salary adjustment consistent with
the adjustment provided in labor contracts and recommended for all other
employees in Agenda Item #8. Resource Impacts The annual salary
cost, for Fiscal Year 2003-04, of this recommendation is approximately
$9,201. Sufficient funds are available in the FY 2003-04 Draft Budget.
