This report summarizes the RFPs and RFQs for budgeted services over $50,000 scheduled to be released for advertisement for the month of February.

Background
At its April 9, 1999 meeting, the Board approved a revised Procurement Policy and Procedure. Under the revised policy, RFPs and RFQs for budgeted items over $50,000, which follow the standard evaluation criteria, no longer require individual Board approval. However, a monthly report of all RFPs and RFQs over $50,000 is included as part of the Board agenda package and the Board may, if desired, take individual action on any item. The report provides the title and synopsis of the RFP or RFQ, the budgeted funds available, the release date, the closing date, the type of evaluation method, and the AQMD contact. Outreach In accordance with the AQMD’s consulting and contracting policies, a public notice advertising the RFP and inviting bids will be published in the following publications:

Proposal Evaluation Proposals received will be evaluated by applicable diverse panels of technically qualified individuals familiar with the subject matter of the project or equipment and may include outside public sector or academic community expertise. Attachment

AQMD contracts with Kaiser Permanente for medical services that include pre-employment examinations, minor "first aid" injury evaluation and treatment, and other necessary medical examinations. The current contract expires June 30, 2004. This action is to issue an RFP to solicit proposals from medical services providers interested in providing these services to AQMD for the next three-year period, commencing July 1, 2004.

AQMD contracts with an occupational health services provider for Cal/OSHA-required employee medical examinations. The current contract with the Center for Occupational and Environmental Health at the University of California, Irvine, expires June 30, 2004. This action is to issue an RFP to solicit proposals from occupational health service providers interested in providing these services for the next three-year period, commencing July 1, 2004. |
