Amir Dejbakhsh is the Assistant Deputy Executive Officer of the Engineering Division in the Office of Engineering and Compliance with responsibility over Permitting, RECLAIM, and Operations units. He has over 30 years of air quality experience with the SCAQMD and has extensive knowledge of Title V, RECLAIM, BACT/LAER, and New Source Review. During his SCAQMD career, he has held multiple positions. Most recently, he was the Senior Engineering Manager in charge of the Coatings/Plating/Military/Entertainment Industry team. Prior to that, he was the Senior Engineer of the Waste Management team, overseeing the permitting of solid and liquid waste systems, and the Permit Inventory Reduction Program, successfully developing and implementing a work plan to increase efficiency and to reduce the permit application backlog. As an Air Quality Engineer, he developed and amended rules R1415, R1124 and R1469, processed applications for various industries, such as refineries and coatings, developed implementation policies for Title III (MACT) rules, and oversaw the SCAQMD’s New Source Review program.
Amir has a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
