Jill Whynot has extensive experience working in the air pollution field, and has worked at SCAQMD since 1989. As Chief Operating Officer, she works closely with the Executive team to handle daily operations of the agency, manage resources and succession planning, and help ensure key objectives are met.
Jill started as a staff specialist and has worked in both Planning, Rule Development, and Area Sources, and Engineering and Compliance in progressively responsible positions. Jill was formerly an Assistant Deputy Executive Officer. Before joining SCAQMD, Jill was a chemist for ten years at the Los Amigos Research and Education Institute Incorporated of Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center, studying the respiratory effects of acute air pollution exposures.
Jill has a Bachelor of Science and a Masters of Science in Environmental and Occupational Health Science from California State University, Northridge.
