Facility-Based Mobile Source Measure focused on identifying additional emission reduction opportunities to be included in the State Implementation Plan (SIP) for attainment of federal air quality standards and reduction of local exposure to air toxic emissions

About

Projected increases in airline passenger transportation and expansion projects may result in potential increases in emissions at the region's six commercial airports. Several airport authorities are already implementing emission reduction measures, and are also considering new actions that can lead to additional emission reductions.

This measure seeks to evaluate these actions and identify additional opportunities that can lead to emission reductions that can be submitted into the State Implementation Plan (SIP) to assist in the attainment of federal air quality standards and reduce local exposure to air toxic emissions.

As part of the development of the 2016 Air Quality Management Plan (AQMP), the aircraft emissions inventory for the South Coast AQMD was evaluated and updated in the inventory study provided below. Specifically, an updated aircraft emissions inventory was developed for the 2012 base year and 2040 forecast year based on the latest available activity data and calculation methodologies.
