SCAQMD Hosts Cesar Chavez Day of Remembrance

For the third consecutive year the South Coast Air Quality Management District will honor the memory of civil rights and labor activist Cesar Chavez with an inspirational event focusing on the environment and air quality.  Christine Chavez, granddaughter of Cesar Chavez and farmworker coordinator for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, will keynote the event.  Also, Fabian Nuñez, former speaker of the state Assembly and author of the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006, will be honored with the Richard Alatorre Environmental Justice for All Award.
