As a reminder, the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) is seeking input from the public on the type of emission reduction projects they would like to see implemented in their community. A Request for Proposals (RFP) had been released to solicit bids to incentivize stationary and mobile source projects that will result in emission reductions of NOx, VOC, and PM. The most desirable projects will be selected based on the projects’ ability to achieve emission reductions consistent with 2016 Air Quality Management Plan (AQMP) goals, generate possible co-benefits of air toxic and/or GHG reductions, assist with demonstration and deployment of advanced clean technologies, and reduce air quality impacts in environmental justice areas. Project funding is generated from existing special revenue funds related to mitigation fees, settlements, set-asides or grants from other agencies.
