SCAQMD to Host Public Meeting on Air Quality Issues Related to Carlton Forge Works

WHAT:      The South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) will host a town hall meeting to provide an update on air quality issues related to Carlton Forge Works, a metal parts manufacturing facility in Paramount. At the meeting, SCAQMD will share information and there will be an opportunity for public comments and questions. Spanish translation will be provided.

WHEN:    Thursday, January 23, at 6:00 p.m.        
 
BACKGROUND:  Carlton Forge Works, located at 7743 Adams St. in Paramount, manufactures metal rings for use in aerospace, gas turbine and other industries. Odor complaints reported by local community members led the SCAQMD to supplement ongoing complaint investigations, inspections and surveillance activities with air sampling in 2013.  SCAQMD staff will share monitoring results at the meeting.
 
SCAQMD is the air pollution control agency for Orange County and major portions of Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Riverside counties.
