$30 Million Now Available for Trucks, Switcher Locomotives and Marine Vessels in California

On December 6, 2019 the South Coast AQMD Governing Board approved $30 million in funding to replace or upgrade engines for older, in-use vehicles including freight trucks, waste haulers, dump trucks, concrete mixers, switcher locomotives, ferries, tugboats and towboats.

To be eligible to participate, the new engines, vehicles and equipment funded through this program must be operated in California for a minimum of three years. The existing vehicles, equipment or engines that will be replaced or upgraded are required to be scrapped. Applications for the program must be submitted online at by 1:00 p.m. PST, Wednesday, March 4, 2020.
