Funding opportunities are available
to offset the costs of reducing emissions. AQMD and other entities offer a
number of funding/grant resources which include:
AB 2766 Subvention Funds
Funds from the registration of every motor vehicle registered or renewed
each year in California are distributed directly to the cities for mobile
source emission reduction programs.
Air Quality Investment Program
(AQIP)
Funds alternative mobile source emission/trip reduction strategies,
including procurement of low emission, alternative fuel or zero emission
vehicles; old vehicle scrapping, telecommuting centers; re-power of marine
vessels, creation and improvement of localized demand responsive mobility
enhancing services.
Carl Moyer Fund
The purpose of the Carl Moyer Program is to help speed the introduction of
low-emission, heavy-duty engines. Proposition 40 allocates $50 million to
the ARB for distribution to air districts for projects that "affect air
quality in state and local parks and recreation areas" in accordance with
the Carl Moyer guidelines.
Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review
Committee (MSRC)
This program, entitled the “Local Government Match Program” is designed to
encourage the development and increased availability of alternative-fuel
refueling infrastructure within the south coast area. In addition, funds are
available to support the purchase of medium and heavy-duty alternative fuel
vehicles.
