CALIFORNIA AIR TECH 2001:
An International Conference on Urban
Air Pollution Technologies & Solutions

Date: November 5 – 6, 2001

Location: Disneyland Hotel Entertainment & Conference Center

Anaheim, California

Host: South Coast Air Quality Management District

Purpose: The conference is aimed at a diverse group of key decision makers, governmental officials and industry representatives from the international air quality community. Topics of discussion will include the following: appropriate global and regional responses to urban ozone and particulate pollution, global climate change, mobile and stationary emission control technology options including zero emission and hybrid vehicles, market incentives vs. command and control, regional cooperation strategies, energy supply and diversification strategies, including distributed distribution, and fuel choices for fuel cell vehicles.

The conference will include a short welcoming statement by the Board Chairman and a representative of a major international body (such as the World Bank or the United Nation’s Environmental Program). There will also be a major governmental representative from the European or Asian region, as well as the third world. Eighteen technical sessions are planned to address a diverse range of topics related to overall air quality planning efforts, stationary and mobile source control options, future strategies for reducing emissions, public outreach, and commercialization and sustainability. Two keynote addresses are planned for the luncheons on Monday and Tuesday, one on the industry’s view of the challenges ahead, the second on an environmental regulatory perspective.
