| Dec. 9, 2008 Strong gusty
Santa Ana winds will likely cause unhealthful air quality in areas of the
Southland today, especially regions in and downwind of areas burned by the
recent wildfires.
Winds may cause PM10 and PM2.5 concentrations to reach Unhealthy for
Sensitive Groups concentrations in these areas.
In areas directly impacted by windblown dust, all individuals should avoid
any vigorous outdoor or indoor exertion. People with respiratory or heart
disease, the elderly, and children should remain indoors.
AQMD is the air pollution control agency for Orange County and major
portions of Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Riverside counties.
