AQMD Goals and Concerns
AQMD's goals are to meet California's electricity demand and protect air quality.
AQMD is committed to finding innovative solutions and
exploring options to provide temporary relief and permanent solutions to
survive energy problems while maintaining and protecting the ambient air
quality, and public health and safety. AQMD is concerned with the
use of uncontrolled power plants and more polluting diesel-fired emergency
back-up generators.
