AB 1318 Mitigation Fund

AQMD released a request for proposals (RFP) in February 2012 for emission reduction projects in the Coachella Valley under the AB 1318 Mitigation Fees Fund program.

By the submittal deadline of June 8, 2012, AQMD received 75 project proposals that requested a total of more than $375 million. The objective of the RFP is to implement the requirements of AB 1318, utilizing the funds for emission reduction projects while meeting the minimum 30% funding requirements for areas in close proximity to the CPV Sentinel power plant and in Environmental Justice Areas.

On January 4, 2013, at its regular scheduled meeting, the AQMD Governing Board approved awards for 26 projects to reduce emissions in the Coachella Valley.
