   Fees

The Air Toxics "Hot Spots" Information and Assessment Act (the Act) requires each district to recover state and district program costs, H&SC §44380 et. seq.  At the SCAQMD, this is accomplished through Rule 307.1.  The fees assessed through this regulation are used to:

  • inventory toxic air emissions;
  • prioritize facilities for presentation of risk assessments;
  • review risk assessments;
  • notify the public of potential health risk from exposure to the emissions;
  • provide quidance to the facilities in regarding the potential health risks from exposure to the emissions;
  • develop risk assessment guidelines and chemical potency values; and,
  • maintain a computerized, statewide inventory of toxic emissions for toxic reduction rulemaking.
