Guidance Document for
Addressing Air Quality Issues in
General Plans and Local Planning



AQMD's outreach efforts will provide an overview of the Guidance document components so that local government staff of other entities will be provided with a clear interpretation of the document's intended goals and use. The AQMD is committed to providing technical support through:

  • Outreach meetings with local governments, council of governments (COG), local planning agencies, and stakeholders.
     
  • Information seminars and workshops.
     
  • Participation in professional conferences and meetings for local governments and other interested parties.
     
  • Technical assistance to local governments upon request.

Workshop Agenda

AQMD has scheduled a series of 2-hour workshops to discuss the document with its intended users, city planners, managers, and other interested parties.  Workshops will be presented in coordination with California Air Resources Board (CARB) and Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG).

The workshops are designed to overview AQMD's Guidance Document, CARB's Air Quality and Land Use Handbook, and SCAG's Update to the Regional Comprehensive Plan (RCP).
