On March 5, 2010, the AQMD released the first public drafts of
Proposed Rule 4010 – Emissions Inventory and Health Risk Assessment Submittal
Requirements for the Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach, and Proposed
Rule 4020 – Backstop Requirements for Emission Reductions and Health Risks at
the San Pedro Bay Ports. These proposed rules are designed to
ensure that the Ports achieve their fair share of emission reductions that will
allow the Basin to meet upcoming PM2.5 and ozone standards. In addition,
the proposed rules will ensure that the Ports achieve health risk reduction
targets.
We would like to hear from you to solicit information and your suggestions
regarding the proposed rules. We invite you to attend a meeting on
Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at the Silverado Park Social Hall in Long
Beach. This meeting will be the first in a series of stakeholder meetings
on Proposed Rules 4010 and 4020.
The proposed rule language is available on our website at
http://www.aqmd.gov/rules/proposed.html
We look forward to working with you. If you have any questions regarding this
meeting, please contact:
