Special monitoring immediately downwind of stationary sources of lead was carried out at four locations in 1999.  The maximum monthly average concentration was 0.29 µg/m3, recorded in Area 5, Southeast Los Angeles County, and the maximum quarterly average concentration was 0.23 µg/m
3, recorded in Area 1, Central Los Angeles.
