Funding is for a portion of the differential cost allowed
by the Carl Moyer Program requirements to repower and operate 5 diesel refuse
trucks with new LNG engines. Westport is in the process of developing and
demonstrating the durability of the new ISXG 450 hp LNG engine certified at 1.2
grams/break horse power-hour (g/bhp-hr). Once durability is established, the manufacturer intends to replace
the engine with one certified at 0.2 g/bhp-hr for the remainder of the contract
period.
