The AQMD is seeking proposals to be funded by monies from
the Rule 2202 Air Quality Investment Program (AQIP).
Proposals will be accepted by the AQMD on an ongoing basis.
Contracts will be awarded on a quarterly basis. Proposals
should demonstrate that emission reductions/air quality
improvements are real, surplus, quantifiable, and contain
appropriate methodologies. The objective of the program is
to reduce equivalent emissions to those employers
participating in the AQIP that would be achieving if they
met their emission reduction target (ERT).
Rule 2202 allow employers to participate in the AQIP
rather than implementing any other strategy contained in the
rule, in order to meet their ERT. An employer may elect to
participate in the program by investing annually or
triennially into an AQMD administered restricted fund.
The
Request for Proposals (RFP) is to solicit
cost-effective projects. Some of the projects that could be
considered to receive funding may include the procurement of
low or zero emission vehicles; implementation of remote
sensing; old vehicle scrapping; the creation or improvement
of localized demand responsive, mobility enhancing services,
such as shuttle services; and others.
All proposals received by 5 pm,
according to the
scheduled closing dates listed under the Schedule
of Events, will be considered for that period. Proposals
received subsequent to the closing dates will be considered
for the next quarter for disbursement. This is an open
process, proposals may be received at any time, and
contracts are awarded every quarter. Proposals are subject
to AQMD Governing Board approval. You may obtain a copy of
the RFP by mail or
on-line.
