Ozone Air Quality Forum and Technical Roundtable
October 31, 2006, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
South Coast AQMD Auditorium
21865 Copley Drive
Diamond Bar, CA 91765
Forum and Technical Roundtable will be
webcast.
The South Coast Air Quality Management District is convening this forum and technical roundtable to discuss issues related to
ozone air quality trends and future planning efforts. Although the
long-term ozone air quality trend in the South Coast Air Basin showed steady
improvement during the 1980’s and 1990’s, the more recent trend has
flattened out, showing only marginal gains since the end of the last
decade. The slower rate of improvement has occurred despite continued
implementation of control measures in the current Air Quality Management
Plan (AQMP). As we proceed with efforts to revise the AQMP in 2007, it is
imperative to examine the effectiveness and possible shortcomings of the
current strategy.
The morning sessions will consist of presentations by
technical experts who will discuss ozone trends, and the impacts of various
factors including:
-
Growth Patterns
-
Chemistry:
Changes in the Regional VOC/NOx Ratio
-
Weekend
Effect
-
Ethanol
Permeation
-
Control
Measure Implementation Effectiveness
-
In-Use
Control Achievements
-
Uncertainty
Factors.
A technical
roundtable discussion among air pollution experts will be conducted. Public comment will be encouraged following the
roundtable discussion.
The AQMD encourages all major stakeholders to attend
including environmental and community organizations, state and federal
regulatory agencies, air quality researchers, vehicle manufacturers, fleet
operators, business and industry representatives, and any other interested
parties.

presentations can be reviewed
