Incentives

Availability of additional financial incentives will accelerate the turnover of existing vehicles and engines to near-zero and zero emission technologies.

SCAQMD currently administers approximately $100 to $150 million in incentive funding for lower emitting vehicles and equipment.  Information about these existing funding programs is available at this link.

Concurrent with the 2016 Air Quality Management Plan, SCAQMD developed a Draft Financial Incentives Funding Action Plan.  This Funding Action Plan identified potential revenue sources that SCAQMD could pursue to increase the amount of financial incentives available for accelerating the turnover of existing vehicles and engines to near-zero and zero emission technologies.  More information regarding this effort, including a separate working group process, will be posted soon.
