Two Governing Board Members Reappointed

Councilmember Rex Richardson

The Los Angeles County City Selection Committee has reappointed City of Long Beach Councilmember Rex Richardson as the Governing Board’s representative for the western cities of Los Angeles County. His term will expire on January 15, 2026. Richardson first joined the Board in February 2021 to fill the unexpired term left when Judith Mitchell retired. He currently serves as Co-chair of South Coast AQMD’s Marine Port committee, and as a member on the Climate Change, Stationary Source and Technology committees. He represents the 9th District in North Long Beach. He is also a past President of the Southern California Association of Governments, representing 191 cities across the region.

Veronica Padilla-Campos Veronica

Padilla-Campos was reappointed to the Governing Board by Speaker of the Assembly Anthony Rendon through January 15, 2026. She originally joined the Governing Board in June 2021, to fill the remainder of Dr. William A. Burke’s term when he retired. Currently, she serves on South Coast AQMD’s Climate Change, Investment Oversight, Legislative, Marine Port, Refinery, and Stationary Source committees. Throughout the last decade, Padilla-Campos has played a crucial role at Pacoima Beautiful, a grassroots environmental justice organization that provides education, impacts policy, and supports local arts and culture to promote a healthy and sustainable San Fernando Valley. She has served as Pacoima Beautiful’s Executive Director since 2013.
