Other Web sites are invited to include links to the Site. Although permission is not required, it is requested that you let us know ( who you are and to which part of the Site you are linked. However, we ask you not to lift information from the Site for placement on another Web site. If you lift information, do not attribute that lifted information to SCAQMD. Our information is updated frequently, and we need to be certain that only current information is posted and attributed correctly to SCAQMD. SCAQMD does not control other Web sites and their resources, and we do not endorse them. SCAQMD will not be held responsible for their availability, content, or accuracy.

SCAQMD may, at its discretion, create links to Web sites controlled or offered by third parties (non-affiliate of SCAQMD) that meet, but are not limited to, the following criteria.:

  1. The external link will assist SCAQMD in fulfilling its mission.
  2. The external link will provide information of value to the public and regulated community using SCAQMD’s Web site.
  3. The organization being linked to is not engaged in any legal or enforcement proceedings with the SCAQMD.
  4. The external Web site is managed in a professional manner (i.e., fully operational and available most of the time, etc.).
  5. If the external Web site is a commercial site, the site owner is either an active partner in one of the SCAQMD’s programs, or supplies information or products that support the principles of the SCAQMD.
  6. The external Web site does not contain information that would offend common standards of decency and propriety.

SCAQMD will remove any external link that does not continue to meet these criteria. SCAQMD hereby disclaims liability for any external Web site content, products, privacy policies, or security. In the event you choose to use the services available at a linked site, you agree to read and adhere to the policies and terms of use applicable to that site. In addition, any advice, opinions, or recommendations provided by the linked site providers are those of the providers and not of SCAQMD. SCAQMD reserves the right to modify the above criteria and add/delete links based upon the modification at any time and without notice. We request that you not post offensive messages or encourage others to do so. You agree to adhere to these policies and notify the system operator ( immediately when you encounter any violations of these rules.

Privacy Policy

The SCAQMD respects your right to privacy and maintains a privacy policy that includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following principles to protect your right to privacy when viewing pages on our Internet site:

Online Advertising We Use

This website uses the Google AdWords remarketing service to advertise on third party websites (including Google) to previous visitors to our site. Advertisements could be displayed on the Google search results page or on a site in the Google Display Network based on what parts of our website you have viewed by placing a cookie on your computer. THIS COOKIE DOES NOT IN ANYWAY IDENTIFY YOU OR GIVE ACCESS TO YOUR COMPUTER. The cookie is used to say "This person visited this site, so show them ads relating to that site." Google AdWords Remarketing allows us to tailor our outreach to better suit your needs and only display ads that are relevant to you. Of course, any data collected will be used in accordance with our own privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy.

You can opt out of interest-based ads by Google through Ads Settings. When you opt out, you’ll still see ads but they may not be related to factors such as your interests, previous visits to other websites, or demographic details.

Public Disclosure

In the State of California, laws exist to ensure that government is open and that the public has a right to access appropriate records and information possessed by government agencies. Information Collected and How It Is Used

We collect personal information directly from individuals who volunteer to use some of our services. Collection of this information is required to deliver the specific services, but use of these services is voluntary. The SCAQMD does not sell any "electronically collected personal information." Any distribution of "electronically collected personal information" will be solely for the purposes for which it was provided to us. However, the SCAQMD may provide or distribute certain lists and statistical reports of regulatory information as provided by law, but no personal information is sold or distributed and all relevant legal privacy protections still apply to SCAQMD’s Web site.

If you do nothing during your visit to this Web site but only browse and download information, we automatically collect and store the following information about your visit:

  1. The Internet Protocol Address and domain name used, but not your e-mail address. The Internet Protocol Address is a numerical identifier assigned either by your Internet service provider or directly by your computer. We use the Internet Protocol Address to direct Internet traffic to you and generate statistics used in the management of this site;

  3. The date and time you visited the site;
  4. The web pages or services you accessed at the site.

The information we automatically collect or store is used to improve the content of our web services and to help us understand how people are using our services. This information does not identify you personally and is used for gathering Web site statistics. The information we automatically collect and store in our logs about your visit helps us to analyze our Web site to continually improve the value of the materials available. What Happens to Information You Submit to Us?

If you submit information to us through an on-line application or form, the information will be transmitted through secure lines to our central database. Any private and/or confidential information will only be used for the purposes for which it was provided and will not be shared with another person except as prescribed by law, including, but not limited to, the California Public Records Act.

SCAQMD limits employee access to customer information to those who have a business reason to know this information. Employees are required to honor our code of conduct, which includes standards to protect confidentiality. Employees are subject to disciplinary action if they fail to do so. SCAQMD requires independent contractors and outside companies to adhere to strict privacy standards as well.

SCAQMD uses technological means (such as backup files, virus detection and eradication software, firewalls, and other computer software and hardware) to protect against unauthorized access or alterations to user data.

Use of Google Translate feature

For the convenience of the users of the Site, SCAQMD provides the option of translating SCAQMD's Web pages using the Google Translate feature.  This option is provided as a service to the public. Only the English version of our Web pages may be relied upon as the legal, official statement of SCAQMD.


Pursuant to the Electronic Communications Privacy Act of 1986 (18 U.S.C. § 2510, et seq.), notice is hereby given that there are no facilities provided by the Site for sending or receiving truly private or confidential electronic communications.
