VW Funding Available for Combustion Freight and Marine Projects

Applications are now being accepted for the California VW Mitigation Trust - Combustion Freight and Marine Projects category. The funds will be used to replace older truck, locomotive, and marine engines with cleaner models that will reduce emissions along heavily traveled transportation corridors, especially in EJ communities. Approximately $19 million in project funds is still available.

To be eligible for funding, existing equipment must be in compliance with all rules and regulations, and applicant must submit proof of ownership for at least one year. The equipment owner must commit to a minimum 75 percent operation within California.

The solicitation will be available to eligible entities statewide on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications are now being accepted online. Solicitation will close when all funds have been fully allocated.
