Two Governing Board Members Appointed

Supervisor Andrew Do
Orange County’s District 1 Supervisor Andrew Do has been selected by the Board of Supervisors to represent the County of Orange on South Coast AQMD’s Governing Board. He will fill the unexpired term of Supervisor Lisa Bartlett, who is vacating her term to run for Congress. The term expires on January 15, 2023. Supervisor Do was elected to the Orange County Board of Supervisors in 2015. Supervisor Do will also serve on South Coast AQMD’s Marine Port, Refinery and Technology Committees.

Councilmember Nithya Raman
Councilmember Nithya Raman has been appointed by Mayor Eric Garcetti as the City of Los Angeles’ representative on South Coast AQMD’s Governing Board. She will serve a 4-year term that will end January 15, 2026. She joined the Los Angeles City Council in 2019 as the representative for District 4 and is the first Asian-American woman and first South Asian ever to serve in this role. She is replacing Councilmember Joe Buscaino, who’s term on the Governing Board has expired. Councilmember Raman will also serve on South Coast AQMD’s Legislative, Marine Port and Mobile Source Committees.
