In November 2021, 11 new inspectors joined South Coast AQMD’s Office of Compliance & Enforcement after completing a newly designed training program. The 10-week course comprised of both virtual classes and field training operations and focused on 
enforcement of air quality rules and regulations. 

All of the new inspectors have degrees in science or engineering, and some have prior experience in air quality compliance. These new inspectors have now joined their inspection teams and are ready to carry out the agency’s mission to clean the air and to protect the health of the residents in the South Coast Air Basin.
