Attention all Replace Your Ride applicants! Great news! You may now choose the "Replace Your Ride - Alternative Transportation e-Bike Option" instead of a replacement passenger vehicle. This program allows you to replace your old ride with a brand-new eligible on-road e-Bike and approved accessories.
To choose this option, please follow these steps after the assigned Case Manager has qualified your application:
First, shop at one of the approved e-Bike shops or any brick-and-mortar e-Bike shop that would like to become an approved e-Bike shop. Once you have found the eligible on-road e-Bike and approved accessories, request an invoice from the e-Bike shop. The invoice should be labeled "Invoice" and include the name and address of the e-Bike shop, the invoice date and invoice number, and an itemized listing that provides sufficient detail on the eligible on-road e-Bike and approved accessories to determine eligibility. Quotations documents will not be accepted as proof of cost, the required document that has the invoice number must be a Sales Receipt, Sales Invoice, or Work Order which give a firm price and not an estimated quote. The participant should not pay the invoice as the up to $7,500 check is made payable to the e-Bike shop.
Please note that the eligible on-road commuter-type e-Bike detail should include a motor rating of 750W or less and either identifying the e-Bike as Class 1-3 or the max speed with throttle or pedal assist, as factory set. The total price of the purchase should be totaled on the invoice to be submitted. However, don't worry about the cost, as the program will cover up to $7,500, participants will need to pay for any amount exceeding $7,500.
Once you have obtained the invoice, along with supplemental documents (e-Bike spec sheet, etc.), please submit them to the assigned Case Manager.
It's important to note that only one e-Bike per adult in the applied IRS Tax Household is allowed, with the total incentive not exceeding $7,500. However, you can also include approved accessories on the same purchase invoice from the list of approved accessories below.

After receiving your new eligible e-Bike, your Case Manager will provide directions on where and how to surrender the vehicle you applied to retire as part of the Replace Your Ride Program.
