The San Bernardino Pilot Study Working Group has been formed and the first meeting was held on April 13, 2011 in San Bernardino.  For a list of the working group members, click here (PDF, 53kb).  Below are materials and links to information from the working group meetings held thus far.  Additional meeting information and materials will be posted as they become available.

Work Plan

In developing community-specific solutions to air quality issues identified in each of the study areas, a general work plan has been created to provide an organized approach for implementation and documentation of the process and progress.  The work plan includes six categories of concentration. Program allows residents of San Bernardino to turn in their working gas-powered lawn mower and purchase a new cordless rechargeable electric mower at a discounted price.

July 2011 - STEM Learning Institute at AQMD Headquarters
San Bernardino County Superintendant of Schools and the AQMD co-hosted the second day of the California science, technology, engineering, and science (STEM) Learning Institute Program was conducted at AQMD Headquarters.

Discussion on Clean Communities Quest Bus Tour and a summary on the Loma Linda University BNSF Rail Yard Study presented by Dr. Sam Soret.

June 7, 2011 - SCAQMD Staff Site Visit at OmniTrans
AQMD staff and consultant visited OmniTrans facility in San Bernardino.

June 3, 2011 - UPS Diesel Delivery Truck Replacement (PDF, 25kb)
AQMD with Electric Vehicle International, Inc. cosponsors a project to replace 28 older diesel delivery trucks with zero-emission medium-duty trucks at UPS facility in San Bernardino.

April 21, 2011 - Clean Communities Quest Bus Tour (PDF, 289kb)

March 26 and 28-29, 2011 - AQMD Leaf Blower Exchange
AQMD staff conducted a leaf blower exchange in San Bernardino.  A total of 450 leaf blowers were exchanged.

March 19, 2011 - AQMD Lawnmower Exchange
AQMD staff conducted a lawnmower exchange in San Bernardino.  A total of 487 lawnmowers were exchanged.

Ongoing - Loma Linda University Environmental Railyard Research Impacting Community Health (ENRRICH) (PDF, 840kb) and the UCLA Railyard Study
AQMD is funding the ENNRICH Study conducted by Loma Linda University's School of Public Health and Center for Community Action and Environmental Justice, and the UCLA Railyard Study.
