In August, four new inspectors joined the Office
of Compliance & Enforcement’s
Inspector Training Program. The 12-week
course combined classroom instruction and hands-on
field training aimed at building a strong
foundation for enforcing air quality rules and
regulations.
Each inspector brings an academic background in science, along with prior experience in environmental work or regulatory settings. Since completing the program, the new inspectors have joined their field teams and begun conducting field operations, such as inspecting facilities and responding to public complaints. South Coast AQMD welcomes this latest group of inspectors, whose efforts will support the agency’s mission to clean the air and to protect the residents of the South Coast Air Basin.
The agency plans to welcome another new class of inspectors in August 2026.
