AP_ Andrea Polidori, Ph.D.
 Atmospheric Measurements Manager
 




Dr. Andrea Polidori is the Atmospheric Measurements Manager for Science & Technology Advancement at the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD). His primary responsibilities include the overall management of all SCAQMD ambient air monitoring network operations, special monitoring programs, and related projects. He is involved in the analysis of data collected from numerous field activities and air monitoring projects, and is currently leading the design, development and implementation of the Air Quality Sensor Performance Evaluation Center (AQ-SPEC), a program created to conduct comprehensive performance tests of commercially available, low-cost air quality sensors. He is also managing SCAQMD’s fence-line air monitoring program and is the Principal Investigator of the U.S. EPA Science To Achieve Results grant at the SCAQMD. Dr. Polidori received his Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Sciences from Urbino University in Italy and his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Environmental Sciences from Rutgers University in New Jersey.



vp Vasileios Papapostolou, Sc.D.
 Program Supervisor




Dr. Vasileios Papapostolou is 
the Program Supervisor for the AQ-SPEC of Science & Technology Advancement at the South Coast Air Quality Management District. His primary responsibilities include the overall oversight and guidance for the systematic field and laboratory evaluation of the performance of air quality sensors measuring NAAQS criteria pollutants and air toxics. He coordinates activities in the U.S. EPA Science To Achieve Results grant project and is the Principal Investigator at the U.S. Department of Energy grant project, entitled "Development of a test standard for the performance verification of low-cost indoor air quality sensors". Dr. Papapostolou received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in Greece, his Master of Science in Exposure Assessment and Doctor of Science in Environmental Health degrees from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.


BF1  Brandon Feenstra, M.Sc.
  Air Quality Specialist
 
 
 

Mr. Brandon Feenstra is an Air Quality Specialist for Science & Technology Advancement at the South Coast Air Quality Management District. He is responsible for the field deployment aspect of the AQ-SPEC evaluations and for designing deployable sensor solutions that can be incorporated into SCAQMD’s ambient air monitoring network. Mr. Feenstra received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, his Master of Public Administration, and his Master of Science in Earth & Environmental Sciences degrees from the California State University in San Bernardino.


HZ  Hang Zhang, Ph.D.
 
 Air Quality Chemist


 

Dr. Hang Zhang is an Air Quality Chemist for Science & Technology Advancement at the South Coast Air Quality Management District. She is responsible for conducting chamber testing experiments, data analysis, and generating laboratory and summary evaluation reports. Dr. Zhang received her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the College of Saint Benedict in Minnesota and 
her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Chemistry from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.


BD  Berj Der Boghossian, M.Sc. 
  Air Quality Instrument Specialist II




Mr. Berj Der Boghossian is an Air Quality Instrument Specialist II for Science & Technology Advancement at the South Coast Air Quality Management District. He is responsible for the field deployment aspect of the AQ-SPEC evaluations. Mr. Der Boghossian received his Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Sciences with a concentration in Natural Sciences from University of California, Riverside and his Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from California State University, Fullerton. He has an Engineer-in-Training certification.

     Air Quality Instrument Specialist II



Dr. Michelle Kuang is an Air Quality Instrument Specialist II for Science & Technology Advancement at the South Coast Air Quality Management District. She is responsible for chamber test method development, design and execution of laboratory chamber experiments, data analysis, and development of laboratory and field sensor performance evaluation reports. Dr. Kuang received her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from University of California, San Diego, and her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Atmospheric Science from University of California, Los Angeles.
