Compliance Assistance Class: Mandatory Rule 1469 Hexavalent Chromium Training Certification

“The South Coast AQMD Headquarters building, located at 21865 Copley Dr., Diamond Bar, CA. is closed to the public until further notice due to COVID-19. As part of efforts to minimize potential risk and exposure, Rule 1469 in-person classroom trainings have been postponed.  South Coast AQMD is aware that training certificates may expire during the time frame that Rule 1469 training sessions have been postponed.  Please note that certifications issued in 2018 will remain valid through the end of the 2020 calendar year. Staff is in the process of creating online content to provide the requisite training and provisional certifications. Updates will be placed on the South Coast AQMD Compliance Training webpage. Please be sure to periodically check this webpage for updates, or call the Toxics Hotline at (909.396.2336).”

 

South Coast AQMD Rule 1469 requires personnel from all chrome plating and chromic acid anodizing facilities to complete mandatory training and certification every two years. This training is required for personnel responsible for environmental compliance, maintaining plating bath chemistry, and testing and recording plating bath surface tension. 

 
South Coast AQMD, working closely with the Metal Finishing Association of Southern California, has developed an outline and training materials for the course. To provide flexibility to participants, identical training sessions are scheduled on the  various dates specified below. You are required to attend only one of these sessions to receive certification. 

Registration:

  • Pre-registration is required for this training. Registration for the class will close at 5 PM on the Friday before the class. 

  • To register for the South Coast AQMD Rule 1469 Training class, please click the Registration Link next to your preferred class date below. 

  • In order for the webinar to function properly, each participant must register individually and must use their own individual email address.

  • Class fee is $36.31 per person, and an email will be sent to the email address in the registration with information on how to pay the fee.

  • This half-day class, from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM, will be conducted via webinar (including standard phone access for those without access to a computer or smart phone). Class attendance instructions will be provided to attendees through the email address that was provided on the registration.
