South Coast AQMD Advisory Council

History

California Health and Safety Code §40471(b) requires the Advisory Council to undertake peer review of the health impacts of particulate matter air pollution in the South Coast Air Basin during the development of the Air Quality Management Plan (AQMP). The current Advisory Council is formed to review the health effects portion of the 2022 AQMP, a blueprint to improve air quality and achieve federal air quality standards in the South Coast Air Basin and Coachella Valley. The health effects analysis is included in Appendix I of the Draft 2022 AQMP. Future meetings of the Advisory Council will be posted as detailed meeting information becomes available.  

Mission

The mission of the Advisory Council is to review and provide comments on the health effects analysis of an air quality management plan.
