Environmental Justice Community Partnership

The Environmental Justice Community Partnership is a program initiative announced in February 2015 by the South Coast Air Quality Management District’s (South Coast AQMD) Governing Board Chairman Dr. William A. Burke. The Partnership, as it is referenced, is designed to strengthen relationships and build alliances with community members and organizations across the region with the goal of achieving clean air and healthy, sustainable communities for everyone.

South Coast AQMD, through the Partnership, will host a series of events with a special environmental justice (EJ) focus. These forums, training sessions, and other engaging outreach activities help broaden mutual awareness of EJ topics, and keep South Coast AQMD connected to the residents whom the agency serves, so together we can more effectively identify and address EJ issues impacting local Southland communities.
