General Description
The Airly sensor is a multi-pollutant air quality monitoring device that provides real-time measurements of gases (CO, NO2, O3 and SO2) and PM1.0, PM2.5 and PM10 mass concentrations, and environmental parameters such as pressure, temperature and relative humidity. Data can be visualized and accessed on the dashboard and mobile applications. The Airly sensor features color changing external LED to indicate Air Quality Index and an anti-theft locking mount. The Airly sensors can be configured as “PM only”, or PM + Gas (gas types: NO2 + O3, SO2 + CO).
Principle of Operation
The Airly sensors use electrochemical sensors for gas measurements and a PMS5003 laser particle counter, where laser beams detect particles going past by their reflectivity. These sensors count suspended particles in sizes of 0.3, 0.5, 1.0 2.5, 5.0 and 10 μm. These particle counts are processed by the sensor using a complex algorithm to calculate the PM1.0, PM2.5 and PM10 mass in μg/m3. PMS5003 sensors come factory calibrated.
