To All Interested Parties,
South Coast AQMD's Rule 1180 - Refinery Community and Fenceline Air Monitoring mandates real-time observations of air pollutants at or near the fenceline of all major petroleum refineries in the South Coast Air Basin.
- Rule 1180 was adopted in December 2017 and amended in January 2024.
The South Coast AQMD is now seeking comments on the elements of the Rule 1180 Fenceline Air Monitoring Plans (FAMPs) related to the January 2024 Rule Amendment, which include:
- Air monitoring for additional pollutants - PM10, PM2.5, Ni, Cd, Mn, PAH
- New requirements for Web-Based Fenceline Data Display and Notification Program
- Data display and availability, and recordkeeping
- Notifications
The revised refinery FAMPs for each of the Rule 1180 refineries can be found below in Table 1.
